A Humble Opinion Regarding "Power" by M. Shakir

First and foremost, after finish reading the short story "Power" by M. Shakir, I realize that there is always pros and cons in one single character. For example, in the short story "Power", I had come across the character Tuan D.O where he is the central character. He is the protagonist in the story where he had to face one of the natives that refuse to pay taxes and had most of the villagers as a follower (Medicine Man). In the story, Tua D.O is depicted to be this polite, gentle, and patient man where he can still put up with the stubborn villagers. But, there is also negative side of him where he look down at the villagers ( a situation where he says the word "resident" is too good a word for those villagers.) What I tried to highlight here is that although the character is a protagonist, there will always be two sides (good and bad) in a single character.

Just a reminder: If we recall from previous knowledge of flat/static characters and round/dynamic characters (from other literature courses), we'd realise that a character that exhibits a more round character will have the different dimensions of a self. only a purely flat/static/stock character will be purely 2-dimensional and be either all good or all bad.
