Pete Teo's interview

words from heart.

it was beautiful,
the way you looked at me,
the way you perceived me,
it was all beautiful,
it was sadness on the other side,
it was naught that fills me,
it was staring that pin its eyes on me,
it was still when i inhale,
it was spinning when i exhale,
it was breaking when i try to fly,
it was mending when you pull me under,
it was aching when it recovers,
then time came to take me away from you,
that was when you let me fly high,
that was when i know i'm appreciating you,
it was still beautiful the way you preached to me,
it was still beautiful afterall,
how i stand here revolves around you,
it was beautiful how i keep staring at you never hating,
it was beautiful how i could understand you,
thank God you are still beautiful.

Malaysia in Narration honours Malaysia's Greatest Narrator

Let's take a moment to honour the greatest Malaysian narrator ever - the late Yasmin Ahmad. I know this post is a little late in coming, but better late than never, right?

Anyway, I bet all of us remember the awesome ads she directed, like 'Tan Hong Ming Falls In Love' and all the heartwarming seasonal Petronas ads that I personally looked forward to, as they all represented Malaysia and Malaysians and showcased our cultural uniqueness. Under her directorship, movies like Sepet and Gubra tackled 'sensitive' issues with delicacy, humour and aplomb, showing us Malaysians that we aren't as touchy and prickly as was always assumed. Yasmin Ahmad opened our eyes and touched our hearts, and was the voice of Malaysia.

Malaysia Boleh

The Times Higher Education Supplement (THES) has released more faculty rankings in a prelude to the full Top 200 universities of the world rankings list. I was get shocked when I saw our country's first build University Malaya is respectably featured in Biomedicine ,Social Science and even Art and Humanities aspects :) It reminds me of our slogan -Malaysia Boleh !!!!!!!

A Humble Opinion Regarding "Power" by M. Shakir

First and foremost, after finish reading the short story "Power" by M. Shakir, I realize that there is always pros and cons in one single character. For example, in the short story "Power", I had come across the character Tuan D.O where he is the central character. He is the protagonist in the story where he had to face one of the natives that refuse to pay taxes and had most of the villagers as a follower (Medicine Man). In the story, Tua D.O is depicted to be this polite, gentle, and patient man where he can still put up with the stubborn villagers. But, there is also negative side of him where he look down at the villagers ( a situation where he says the word "resident" is too good a word for those villagers.) What I tried to highlight here is that although the character is a protagonist, there will always be two sides (good and bad) in a single character.
